This photo illustrates the integration of ancestral homelands and of western homes of the diaspora. 

Through the varying widths of the green photo of Sri Lanka, an almost forest-like representation is contrasted by the bleak city in the background. The green forest is seen to be divided up by the continuation of the Northern Sri Lankan border as a means of representing how the traditional lands have been destroyed by colonial powers in order to provide for the growth of western cities. 

Additionally, the wild greenery with its curving lines opposes the city's harsh lines and structures. In doing so, this photo can also be seen to represent the potential that the wildness of nature has in erasing the strict realities of western colonial society.
